@@MeatballSandwich-s6d Not true actually. Yes you can only place the *destination* warp point in specific locations, but you can warp to that destination FROM absolutely anywhere you want, so long as you're in the same era (ie: Adult Link cannot teleport to a warp point he created as a Child, and vice versa.). Because of this, the most efficient way to use Farore's Wind in real life would be to create a map of your home, set the warp point there, travel to other places manually, then use the spell as a shortcut back. This also alleviates the stamina issue because any vulnerability caused by the spell making you tired would occur within the safety of your own home instead of somewhere else. The only issue is that if you travelled by car, you'd end up leaving your car behind when you warp back, but you might be able to get away with something small like a skateboard or scooter as an "item" that warps with you when held, and public transit would also work just fine.
@@corhydrae3238 No, Farore's Wind actually works cross-dungeon as well. There are two separate warp points however, one for child and one for adult, so we might assume that the warp points fade away after a long enough time.

If we want to get super-pedantic, a lot of the "dungeons" in OoT are temples, which implies one could use Farore's Wind at various places of worship. Sure, you'd need maps, but that seems easy enough to make. Useful for if you attend a regular service, or one happens to be nearby something else you regularly attend.
I was going to make a similar comment about how, if you reeeally want to stretch the definition of the word "dungeon", I could use it to get to work easily. But then I remembered something crucial... Farore's Wind is a one-way trip. You can go to where you want/need to go, but then how are you going to get back?
@@SuperGoker64 The best place for a one-way teleport spot will always be my bed. So the whole thing depends on whether my own home counts as a dungeon. It does have a map, if you count architectural plans?
I was going to say if you're not Religious that's still useless, but now that I think about it at least hear in Utah we've got a Church every couple blocks or so, in fact I'm within short walking distance of 2 of them so that would be useful
Another note about Fafore's wind: while the magic appears as an item in game, that's probably just an abstraction for player convenience, same with the magic arrows, more than likely they aren't different arrows, just the ability to imbue an arrow with a magical effect as you draw back the bow string. All this to say, it can't be taken from you, but being a one way teleport that (iirc) only works when both the caster and destination are in the same dungeon/temple, still probably not very useful.
Goombanna to further validate you as an internet personality: your topics are varied and unique yet you somehow manage to be passionate about them all, which makes each video a delight to watch even though I don't play a majority of the games you discuss. you excel in a genre of videos that has previously been overrun by men, without making a big deal about it. you are doing great, keep it up
"..Let's you talk to Saria, who doesn't exist in real life." I would bet money that somewhere in the world, there's someone named Saria. Likely named after her in this game, but somewhere nonetheless. So the real question is... Do you want to have conversations with a random stranger somewhere in the world named Saria. ...No. No way. I have enough trouble talking to people I do know, a stranger from who knows where? Nu-uh. And that poor Saria is just gonna magically get your voice in their head is probably just gonna think they're going crazy. It'd be a bad time for everyone.
10:34 Fun fact, but also concerning, the Song of Time doesn't make them disappear. It sends the block to the other time age. So if it's there as an adult, play the song, then you will see it as a kid. Same for vice versa. You learn some interesting weird tricks in randomizers
I'd argue Farore's Wind is situationally useful depending on how exactly it works irl. A big thing about it is that it's not just teleportation inside a singular dungeon, you can use it to teleport from one dungeon to another. If the irl equivalent includes places like your home or work, it'd be super useful (though, importantly, it's one way). Could even use it on holidays to skip the return trip! But if the irl equivalent is super niche, then yeah... kinda useless.
When I was in high/middle school, we had to do community service around the area. You know, help the garden, care for the animals, etc. I had the bad luck of being chosen to work with the cows. And they didn't have the cleanest living conditions.
I raised cattle like the past three-plus generations of my family. They're honestly a lot like giant, REALLY stupid dogs. I have never actually milked one though, ours were beef cows not dairy.
I'm pretty much lockstep in agreement with you for most of these! My only changes are... Slingshot: I would get SO much use out of playing with my cats with one of these. Megaton Hammer: gardening and landscaping the yard would be way easier if I can just get rid of rocks like that. Farore's Wind: I will seek out dungeons and other sus underground structures for teleportation urban exploration. If the main qualifier is that it needs a map, never hurts to try, I love those, and I can always make my own!
Nah, Deku stick is def Extremely Useful, it's the straightest stick I've ever seen with no extra branches. Great for carving, making a sword or spear, great torch, and, speak softly and carry a big stick
Honestly, it would perhaps be nice to just have a Deku Stick. I don't specifically *neeed* a big stick, but I would happily accept one were it to be offered my way.
You could call your house a dungeon and then get the blueprints or floor plan of your house to serve as a map, so then you could have an easy way to get to your front door at any point in the house. Likewise you could do so at your job to be the first one out the door at the end of the day, but most employers would frown on employees having access to the floor plans of their buildings.
Nayru’s love would be the most useful to me, you don’t even take fall damage while using it! The Song of Storms would be so useful during forest fires, but you’re right in that the repercussions to the environment are unknown. Birthday Ocarina scene had me dying 😂 and the thought of lighting a candle with Din’s Fire too lol. Video of you showing your archery skills would be lit! And I had no idea butterflies could turn into fairies 🤯 so kind of you to consider the butterfly’s wishes too. Big fan of Ocarina of Time, can’t wait for part two!
> I see a Goombanna video, I let the ads play to support her because she's a nice creator > I see a Raid Shadow Legends ad, I skip it because I refuse to support them > I see a Raid Shadow Legends ad on a Goombanna video, I have a stroke
If you do not like the sponsor for a creator you like, I feel like you have an obligation to skip it. Analytics will tell them that a lot of people skipped it and that they should choose better sponsors. Plus, they already got paid, so they’re not losing anything.
Farore’s wind would definitely work in malls. They’re basically dungeons. Large, multifloored, sprawling structures with maps for navigation? Sounds like a dungeon to me
Zelda's lullaby can also be used to fix broken signs! Side note for the next vid: Poe in a bottle proves the supernatural (and therefore could get you $1 mil).
Fuuuuun! I dig this idea and what a creative convo piece for any game. Awesome info on the items! I think I'd go with the Deku Nut, the Bow and the Bottles (could store water in em, hydrate or diedrate). Awesome work AV, cant wait to see part 2.
Ice arrows would actually be pretty useful. It's basically an instant freezer, free ice, and you'll never need to worry about your ice cream melting again.
somewhat less useful when you think that you need to jam an arrow through whatever you want to re-freeze. "why are there three arrows sticking out of this ice cream tub??"
"Oh cool. That tier ranking color scale looks much better. That's satisfy-BIG FRANKIE! Now this is a great day!" Also, Raid is only 6 years old? "Deku stick is just a big stick." 9:03 Ok, I was gonna make a joke earlier when you mentioned paying the spiders rent; I was going to ask if they give you donuts. But I thought, "Nah, I'll keep the undertale joke away from this video." Then you bust out Megalovania on the ocarina? Nice. "But alas, it only works in dungeons." I never had any desire to use Farore's Wind in the game aside from the first time I ever got it, so I didn't even know that was the case. Dang, I thought for sure that was going into the extremely useful category, otherwise. Set a warp at home, take some public transportation to the shopping center an hour away, do everything I need to do and get everything I need, then warp back in an instant sounded fantastic. Bummer. "I don't find myself in too many dungeons (as far as you know)." Hmmm...now if you had a basement, a pen, and some paper... Out of these items? Nayru's love. Complete invincibility for one minute at the cost of, what, feelings like I just took a brisk walk for an hour? Hell yeah! Let's go skydiving with no parachute (let's not, actually)! I would never use it in game, but I feel like it's very handy to hold on to in real life. Thank you for the fun video and I look forward to part 2.
Farore's Wind has some niche use cases in randomizers (easily returning to where you left off in a dungeon you found yourself short on keys for, for example, or getting a certain Gold Skulltula in the Water Temple Longshotless), but it's too restricted to realize its full potential.
I work in a pretty large building, so my workplace could count as a "dungeon with a map". We even have a basement level with corridors that look straight out of an old FPS game.
These videos always scratch such a satisfying itch for me. Love the mix of genuine research and learning with sheer silliness for silliness sake. Looking forward to part 2!
Personally, I think the idea of engulfing everything around me in fire seems pretty cool. Like what if I'm being chased? Boom, on fire. Need to open a door? It's on fire now. And possibly the building, too. Oh well!
@@BJGvideosI'm so happy to introduce you to Polygon's Unraveled series if you haven't seen it. This channel has very similar vibes to it - check out Bowser's Military Heirarchy as a great intro to the series 🤓
@BJGvideos It's a series that ran on Polygon, where the host, Brian David Gilbert, would answer gaming questions very similar to Anna. Things like "Which Castlevania monster is the hottest," or "What Mega Man robots would be useful in real life?" Anna is a bit less unhinged than Brian, but she does cover very similar ground, which is great for people who miss that show.
Personally I'm of the opinion that the best way to interpret Faore's wind is to say it works while inside any structure, including caves. In which case I'd say there's a lot of use to get out of it as long as it's not so flashy as to kinda make it impossible to use it without drawing the attention of every human being in the vacinity and thus being a cursed gift. Also, justice for bottle #4!
Pit can't, not with his angel's allowance. ...does Lady Palutena use money outside of coupons and stuff?? oh wait. hearts. that's the currency there. excellent question.
The rules you lay out are what makes the videos so easy to follow along and get into. It gets me thinking ahead like "oh boy, what's she gonna say about this one then?" Love your work!
My first instinct is to go with the bottled fairy or red potion. Nayru's Love could potentially be comparably useful towards keeping you alive, but idk if spells count as items, or if having it would come with enough magic to actually USE it
I think we all need to consider one thing with Farore's wind. Without even thinking about where you can teleport to, do you guys not want to strike a funny pose, and disappear from sight? Great party trick.
The 4 Sword because having 3 clones of me would make getting work done so much nicer. (I know it's OoT only for this video, but still, that's my answer to the title question.)
5:43 I actually think the bomb could be pretty cool to have in real life. It clearly doesn't hurt people that much (I don't think it deals more than 1 heart of damage), create a loud enough sound to damage eardrums, or even require something to light it, while still being able to eliminate any bothersome rocky surfaces that I may need to get rid of
Thank you for the video. For the items covered so far, I also think that Nayru's Love is a winner! I am clumsy, and not being hurt when I fall would be nice. For items left to cover, does equipment count? If so, I would like Zora's Tunic, because I am not the best swimmer and so underwater breathing would reduce the risks. If not, probably a Blue Potion would be best. If permitted to expand to other Zelda games, the Magic Cape from A Link to the Past would probably be best. I would like to extend "traveling over spike traps without taking damage" to "traveling over Lego-strewn floors without my feet hurting," as this would provide an excellent modern-day use.
One thing I really appreciate about your videos compared to similar videos by some other youtubers is precisely the depth of research you're willing to go through to properly take into account things like how altitude would affect you in a Smash Bros stage. That and the fact that you lay out clear criteria for how you judge these things from the start; videos like this becomes a lot less interesting if the criteria are flimsy and the youtuber just seems to decide arbitrarily based on feeling. So keep those 6-minute tangents about obscure medical and/or legal trivia coming!
I would argue the bottles have one factor that is largely understated. The bottles perfectly preserve all items. The trade items are not carried in the glass bottles, but milk can fill the jar for up to two servings. And canonically, the milk stays fresh at all times. In fact, items in the bottles only get colder, but there isn't hot water in the OoT games, so that doesn't really matter. If I had four glass bottles that kept their contents perpetually preserved for days without any cooling, and they retained their nutritional effects, I wouldn't care about having four. Especially since the OoT bottles are unbreakable. You only don't need the fourth so much if you're a good player in OoT, but irl, those mystical bottles are perfection.
Love the video, this was awesome. You shouldn't feel too rushed for the second video though, especially with a pokemon one to work on as well, just happy to see them whenever they land
you can use the bottles to store sugar, flour, salt, and starch. Keep your kitchen organized! And if you aren't the cooking type, your partner will probably appreciate it.
I love seeing this channel growing. It was such a fun idea to see if you could run through mario kart tracks, and i think you had maybe 2000 subscribers then, you're close to 40k now. Congratulations!
The reasoning for all these item classifications are very well thought out and fair. Although, I have to wonder; with the teleportation item for dungeons with a map, would public places (like malls, amusement parks, museums, etc) that have maps posted count as dungeons IRL? I mean, all those places are full of fun activities, useful items, and various hazards, not unlike a dungeon. If they do count, this would be super useful for me when I’m tired from the day’s events and don’t want to walk all the way back to the front entrance. Solid 9/10 useful items
I think there are more things that classify dungeons as dungeons than just the map 😆 While malls CAN feel like dungeons at times, I think there are a few more key differences 😁
Dungeons in the game are just maps that can have keys. Then you got the additional thing on if they have a map/compass or not. So like the treasure chest game counts as a dungeon but it has no map.
While I support the rational argument you made regarding the hook shot, I would personally take the chance and live with the consequences (being dragged across the ground, dropped from several feet in the air and all). A boy needs his Apple Jacks.
i mostly agree with you with 1 major exception. the lens of truth lets you see the truth when people try to deceive you. when you go through the 'hidden chest' contest, it lets you see which one is the correct chest. i think you could use the lens of truth to, for example, look at a lottery card without scratching it off to see if it will win, or similar uses in other 'luck' based contests. heck, it would probably let you have a significant advantage at legal gambling
1:06 part of the reason I love this channel so much is that it reminds of of "classic" game theroy for lack of better term. Domt get me wrong I still love game theroy but I do miss when most of the videos were about history science math ect rather then lore I loved the 6 minute altitudes tangent! I like yp passively learn random factoids while I'm doing other things
Great video! I will say, since the other two arrow types have their utilities mentioned but Ice Arrows don't: Sometimes, depending on where you live, you may encounter a scenario where your AC isn't working and it's too hot. So in those cases, having a block of ice you can summon is somewhat neat of a utility. Only somewhat, though, since you'd still have to shoot an arrow to do so, you'd have to shoot that arrow at some object you want to are willing to freeze, and I doubt a single block of raw ice would be that practical at helping you cool down (especially safely). Not to mention it's a single-use item in the game, and while sometimes video game characters can be reckless with "eh I used the ammo i won't retrieve it" even in cases when it can totally be retrieved, I imagine the magic ice powers of the arrow would most certainly fall out of use the first time you shoot something with it. Certainly fair for it to be so low even when mentioning all of this.
I still feel the hookshot would be too fun to use and give a lot of shortcuts for travelling around. Trees are everywhere around unless you’re in a big city and you can mess around climbing trees grappling high up and use them on things like wooden dressers. I also don’t think they would damage the objects as they likely just pierce in or stick with the metal and then you pull to it and that’s a ton of fun. Top tier item Also if we are applying human science to say the hookshot isn’t useful, fairies don’t exist so the bottled fairy would not be needed because it won’t exist.
Imo if the item behaves in a manner in game, that's part of its properties. So the hookshot, despite not advertised as such, also has a momentum and gravity nullifier imbued into it, so the body may keep it's heroic pose flying through the air. And the "hook" part is only capable of damaging birds, bats, and a few wall spiders. Everything else gets paralysed, tops, and leaves with no marks. Oh, and the boomerang is definitely magical, it goes through anything on the way back, and it will do ANYTHING to return to the owner once thrown.
Well now we have two series. Smash Stages and Zelda items. I am pressing the items because I would very much like to see the other games rosters be analyzed. As for you doing stuff like going on for 9 minutes about altitude, I was perfectly fine with it. It was relevant and you put in more than enough time and thought into it to justify. Please continue doing these, they have my brain hum in a very content way.
I feel so bad for you anna You gotta do the mario kart videos all over again but this time with the full open world and in between roads too You can’t catch a break 😂😅
Loved the video! your ranking is great, it makes too much sense. ^_^ The only item i see differently is the ice arrows. They would be super useful to me! Just imagine, being able to create an ice block instantly, then crush it into smaller pieces for my drinks in the summer. i always forget to prepare ice the usual freezer-way, so this would definitely help me out lol
I enjoyed the video. I wanted to mention one thing to my point of view the megaton hammer in real life could be useful in construction and breaking up concrete and stuff for various projects.
I am marking this video as "educational" because it taught me two (2) things about Ocarina of Time that I didn't know despite having played it like 400 times. Also I think all the bottles could go in my kitchen tbh
Lens of Truth also lets you see inside the treasure chests specifically at the treasure chest game, so it might be useful to cheat at shell game or something. It only works like that in this one minigame though, so idk if it could be used like that consistently.

Goombanna to further validate you as an internet personality: your topics are varied and unique yet you somehow manage to be passionate about them all, which makes each video a delight to watch even though I don't play a majority of the games you discuss. you excel in a genre of videos that has previously been overrun by men, without making a big deal about it. you are doing great, keep it up
I was NOT expecting Megalovania on Ocarina...it was incredible
@@nickkowal619 It's also been played on mayonnaise...and a doorbell.
And even if we're generous and say you have met this specific Saria already, phones exist
i knew a girl named Saria. i also knew a guy named Ganon. Both were from boy scouts funnily enough
There appear to be around a thousand women named Saria in the world.
@@doomsdayrabbit4398 I can only assume that you went around asking people if they were called Saria as part of your regular doomsday rabbit duties.
Anyone who named their daughter Saria is the kind of in-laws i want.
Receiving each empty bottle individually was a genius bit
No one:
Literally nobody:
Me: … I milked a cow once.
That cow is now a character on Mario Kart I hear 😆
I did too, on a field trip to a farm when I was in Kindergarten
When I was in high/middle school, we had to do community service around the area. You know, help the garden, care for the animals, etc. I had the bad luck of being chosen to work with the cows. And they didn't have the cleanest living conditions.
So did I 😂
I raised cattle like the past three-plus generations of my family.
Great for carving, making a sword or spear, great torch, and,

True, but one of the rules was that she could only use them in the ways that Link is able to use them in the game. Otherwise, yes.
@@mischaavros5444 o ok
but it's still a nice stick
Honestly, it would perhaps be nice to just have a Deku Stick. I don't specifically *neeed* a big stick, but I would happily accept one were it to be offered my way.
It's great for pretend sword fighting too. Except it breaks easily.
@@mischaavros5444 friendly reminder that the deku stick deals as much damage as the master sword
Depends on what you do for a living. Secret government facility is one thing but knowing the layout of a hospital or school is another
Depends on how much of the floor plan you need access to. If it's just a few floors, you could just take some photos of the fire escape maps.
Tbh, the Double Hookshot from Twilight Princess is a must have, for instance grabbing your drink from the kitchen without getting up from the chair.
Video idea: Islands from Windwaker you'd be willing to live on / buy real estate on.
Big fan of Ocarina of Time, can’t wait for part two!
honestly the fall damage thing would be my favorite use for nayru's. no more taking the stairs down

If you do not like the sponsor for a creator you like, I feel like you have an obligation to skip it. Analytics will tell them that a lot of people skipped it and that they should choose better sponsors. Plus, they already got paid, so they’re not losing anything.
That third line contains too much information 😩
@@peteyboo that's not true actually, some sponsorships will pay based on impressions. More views means more pay.
Eh, watching the ad segment of the video doesn't mean you'll download it, so if they make it at least watchable or funny I let it play
"I'm not looking to explode a person." HAHAHA Another great from the Greatest!

7:50 use of Din's fire: getting rid of all flies and mosquito's in your radius quickly.
Fuuuuun! I dig this idea and what a creative convo piece for any game. Awesome info on the items! I think I'd go with the Deku Nut, the Bow and the Bottles (could store water in em, hydrate or diedrate). Awesome work AV, cant wait to see part 2.
1:26 never be ashamed of side tangents , these videos are interesting and silly :)
I didn't know ants only consume liquids.
@@snuq I see this as an absolute win.
The thing is it would be incased in a large block of ice.
4:49 Seriously?! Deku Sticks can turn butterflies into fairies if they land on them?! I didn't know that. This is a good info!

"Oh cool. That tier ranking color scale looks much better. That's satisfy-BIG FRANKIE! Now this is a great day!" Also, Raid is only 6 years old?
"Deku stick is just a big stick."
9:03 Ok, I was gonna make a joke earlier when you mentioned paying the spiders rent; I was going to ask if they give you donuts.
This feels so nostalgic 😢 I would daydream about this stuff as a kid all the time.

I work in a pretty large building, so my workplace could count as a "dungeon with a map".
We even have a basement level with corridors that look straight out of an old FPS game.

8:20 I'd use Din's fire to clear snow from the walk
Personally, I think the idea of engulfing everything around me in fire seems pretty cool. Like what if I'm being chased? Boom, on fire. Need to open a door? It's on fire now. And possibly the building, too. Oh well!

In-depth and well-researched tangents are kinda part of your brand. At this point, it's one of the reasons that I watch your stuff. :)
Your comedic timing/writing is so great here, lots of great subtle jokes - you've always been funny but this feels like a level up!

The rules you lay out are what makes the videos so easy to follow along and get into. It gets me thinking ahead like "oh boy, what's she gonna say about this one then?"
Love your work!
Your videos have so much personality, I love it!
Great video as usual; super insightful. The rat with the mustache on its human face was a little jarring.
5:43 I actually think the bomb could be pretty cool to have in real life. It clearly doesn't hurt people that much (I don't think it deals more than 1 heart of damage), create a loud enough sound to damage eardrums, or even require something to light it, while still being able to eliminate any bothersome rocky surfaces that I may need to get rid of
This video was so much fun. That's what i love most about your videos, you answer questions i didn't know i had. Can't wait for part 2.
Step 1: Make your basement a dungeon (Bottom of the House).
Step 2: Use Farore's Wind.
You now have a fast travel to your house.
So, the Lens of Truth is like SCP-178 (the 3D glasses that shows hidden monsters)? Yeah, I wouldn't want it either
I've play OoT for years and I NEVER KNEW about the butterfly into fairy trick with the stick! Amazing how much staying power this game has!
Love that ocarina. Really funny transitions when you were reviewing stables. Hope Antonio gets one for Christmas.
Unfortunately the equipment screen won't be covered in this series, but I'll let ya have a Zora tunic anyway 😁
They're strong enough to fight Ganondorf with his energy ball volleys lol
Love the video, this was awesome. You shouldn't feel too rushed for the second video though, especially with a pokemon one to work on as well, just happy to see them whenever they land
You are so funny and smart and charming. I hope you will keep having fun with making those videos for a very long time! Thank you for your hard work.
you can use the bottles to store sugar, flour, salt, and starch. Keep your kitchen organized! And if you aren't the cooking type, your partner will probably appreciate it.
1. Hook shot
2. Fairy bottle (ethically dubious though)
3. Dins fire

Seeing a new Goombanna video on my feed instantly makes my day
The reasoning for all these item classifications are very well thought out and fair.
#AnythingForTheJacks
i mostly agree with you with 1 major exception. the lens of truth lets you see the truth when people try to deceive you. when you go through the 'hidden chest' contest, it lets you see which one is the correct chest. i think you could use the lens of truth to, for example, look at a lottery card without scratching it off to see if it will win, or similar uses in other 'luck' based contests. heck, it would probably let you have a significant advantage at legal gambling
Zelda's Lullaby also immediately fixes broken signs. So saves you some work
1:06 part of the reason I love this channel so much is that it reminds of of "classic" game theroy for lack of better term. Domt get me wrong I still love game theroy but I do miss when most of the videos were about history science math ect rather then lore
I loved the 6 minute altitudes tangent! I like yp passively learn random factoids while I'm doing other things
I was today years old when I found out the magic bean could produce fairies with song of storms in OoT
Other point about the fairy bottle, you could sell it and live in luxury forever.
new Anna upload, the day is looking up
I still feel the hookshot would be too fun to use and give a lot of shortcuts for travelling around. Trees are everywhere around unless you’re in a big city and you can mess around climbing trees grappling high up and use them on things like wooden dressers. I also don’t think they would damage the objects as they likely just pierce in or stick with the metal and then you pull to it and that’s a ton of fun. Top tier item
Also if we are applying human science to say the hookshot isn’t useful, fairies don’t exist so the bottled fairy would not be needed because it won’t exist.
I saw this and I was like 'Ooh! Nice! Goombanna video!'
what a perfect time for this video to release, ive been binge playing majora's mask and i love wathcing your vids
Water Temple alone makes you remember the item screen. Can choose the iron boots in my sleep
